Walking Upstream
I discovered a Rolla phenomenon earlier today. First of all, it rains here more than anywhere else I've ever heard of. Practically every day there is at least one random rain storm. Today, however, Mother Nature was in an exceptional fit, because it had been raining for about 12 hours. Upon leaving for class, I realized that I was literally walking upstream. For some reason or another, the entirety of campus forces water to flow rapidly in multiple directions, firing jets of water over the curb, resulting in a kind of creepy free carwash. I can't figure out why the water is so intent on getting wherever it's trying to go, but it certainly flooded my shoes...even duct tape couldn't keep the water out. I HAVE FAILED!
I have two amusing quotes to relate, both from my wonderful psychology teacher. Today was "Davinci Day" or something, because 50 minutes of my life were dedicated to learning how gay people aren't REALLY at fault for being gay, because some identical twins both ended up flamers. Anyway, the two quotes are as follows:
"Alright, it looks like you're starting to cook with Crisco!" - apparently, this means "hey, you're on the right track."
"A lot of gay people move to Key West, because it's kind of like the Israel of gay people." - This is quite possibly the WORST analogy I have EVER heard...and there was a Jewish kid right in front of me, too!
